College of Nursing Research Assistantships

College of Nursing graduate research assistantships (GRA) are mentored research experiences that require 20 hours of work per week focused on research-related activities. GRA positions are available based on the needs of the departments and research faculty.

Selection/Application Process

A PhD student interested in a GRA position should first confer with their supervisory chair, and then inform the associate dean for research of interest in such a position. If there is a position available that matches the doctoral student interest, the associate dean of research will arrange the GRA appointment in consultation with the relevant faculty member and department chair. Per UF regulations, GRA appointments may not exceed .5 FTE (20 hours / week) per semester.

Supervision and Mentorship

The GRA will be supervised by the research faculty member. The student and faculty member should meet regularly for mentoring sessions.
