The Office of Professional Nursing Development — University of Florida is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Montana Nurses Association, an accredited approver with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Mission

The mission of the Office of Professional Nursing Development — University of Florida (OPND-UF) is to be a champion for the advancement of nursing science, nursing education, and clinical practice of professional nurses. This is accomplished by providing high-quality evidence-based educational activities based upon emerging patterns within nursing and healthcare, societal needs, and the identified needs of the registered nurse and advanced practice nurse learners.

  • Can a CME application be submitted for nursing credit/ contact hours?

No, the process is different for nursing.

  • Can a program planning committee request nursing contact hours after the program has been planned?

The Office of Professional Nursing Development — University of Florida is not a CE Approver. This office cannot award contact hours unless our nurse planner has been involved in the program planning from the onset. The Montana Nurses Association is a CE Approver and can be contacted for such a request.
